Although our insurance industry has consistently managed to produce a premium at a higher rate than inflation in recent years, it has shrunk by around 2 percent due to the effects of the crisis that started abroad in the financial sector in 2008, which also affects the real economy and is the biggest global crisis of the last 40 years. In 2009, there were positive developments in the insurance sector, and an increase of 5-7 percent is expected at the end of the year.

Although the complexity of both financial reporting and taxation applications in the Insurance Sector has increased, it is observed that our companies have taken great distances as regards the balance sheet soundness, provisions and capital adequacy by our companies.

The European Union (EU) also continues preparations in Turkey’s insurance sector regarding the entry into force and duration of the studies is expected in 2012, the new capital adequacy regime Solvency II. The sector is targeted to be 85 percent ready for Solvency II until 2011 and fully ready for 2012. New risk-based capital adequacy regulations are expected to make radical changes in the EU insurance sector as well, and it is noted that purchases and mergers may occur between insurance companies in parallel with the increase in capital needs with Solvency II.

On the other hand, as the globalization process leads to the liberalization and management of all financial markets with similar rules, it compels the companies in the market to compete with international companies as well as each other. Therefore, increasing competitiveness has become a vital necessity.

Our company is the solution partner of its customers with its international experience and specialized team.
